Thorpe Park Challenge (10 – 11 April 2024)

Please note: We have closed registrations for this event early due to extremely high demand. We are discussing the option to increase capacity and will only reopen registrations once we have extra spaces confirmed.

Calling all thrill seekers and entrepreneurs!

Ever wondered how new rides and attractions are designed? Come and join this two day event starting at the University of Surrey and finishing at Thorpe Park! This is an exciting and rare opportunity where participants work together to design a brand new ride/attraction for Thorpe Park during the school Easter holidays.

The event is in collaboration with The Inspirational Learning Group who have developed a schedule where participants will learn about different careers in Business and Design during Day 1 before presenting their product at Thorpe Park on Day 2.

The first day will be held at the Surrey University Campus in Guildford from 10am to 4pm – lunch and refreshments will be provided.  The second day will be held at Thorpe Park and a coach will leave the University at 8.30am and will return at 6.30pm.

Presentations will finish by lunchtime on the second day and then all participants will get the afternoon to have fun in Thorpe Park.

Day 1: Wednesday 10 April 2024 @ University of Surrey (10:00 – 16:00)

Day 2: Thursday 11 April 2024 @ Thorpe Park (09:30 – 17:30)*

*Optional free transport will be departing the University of Surrey at 08:30 and returning by 18:30.

This opportunity is fully-funded and FREE of charge to Surrey Scholars in Years 9, 10 and 11. Our funding for this activity means that we are prioritising bookings from participants with experience of living in care.

Remaining places will then allocated to Surrey Scholars who have regularly engaged with previous activity.

Surrey Scholars can register their attendance for this opportunity by completing our online registration form.

Registration will close on Monday 11 March 2024.
